Bucket List

This past semester Danielle inspired me to make a bucket list- I told her I would help her make one for class. Except then I just make my own weeks later.... sorry d!

Well here are a few things on my bucket list (things I want to accomplish or do in my lifetime) Except that I am for real going
to them.

I will only include 20 to spare you from reading a long list, which we know I love! Enjoy!

1. Go on a safari (elephants are among my favorite animals)

2. Win a community award

3. REALLY make a difference

4. Meet Jason Mraz (without Oprah's help)

5. Always celebrate

6. See the northern lights

7. Go on a week hike

8. Live in California

9. Create my own education theory

10. Vacation at the beach regularly

11. Spoil my grand kids

12. Go to a Coldplay concert

13. Finish a grownup book - I got to page 81 of 1984 :)

14. Learn about my ancestors

15. Go to the Czech Republic

16. Be love

17. Run half marathon- at first I put marathon, but then I decided I would be realistic

18. Learn to LOVE to be obedient

19. Do what I want

20. Become financially stable

But please don't get me wrong. In my life I have done some AMAZING things that if I had made a bucket list years ago, would have been crossed off. Take for instance my trip to New York, twice.

Hula hooping with Bushwalla

Graduating from college :) pictures to come!!

Seeing Jason Mraz perform about a thousand times

Meeting a few amazing people and becoming best friends...twice

Falling in love with someone who is perfect for me :)

Going to Las Vegas for my birthday- not to mention LIVING in Las Vegas now!

Going on THE PRICE IS RIGHT

Well not to make a blog too long but that's just my thoughts tonight!

REEEEwind

Ok so I realized I forgot to blog about how this whole wedding thing came about- oops!

So it all began with the game of LIFE- thank you Milton Bradley- and the missionary Michael stole the game from. Thanks should also go to our mutual friends, Dello and Kristen for inviting us other- which I'm pretty sure we invited ourselves over.

That's how is started. It continued with my broken car, a tubing trip, pretending we didn't know each other, shopping trips, a camp out, MORE games, a Sunday school lesson, a hike or two and a couple movies.

Us meeting each other was fate, but Michael getting the guts to ask me out for the first time was a lot of courage. We played phone tag for a little while- we both were too nervous to talk to each other on the phone, but we finally did. It was only fitting that our first date was eating out- on account of that's what we know how to do the best :) After that we left each other for the weekend and told our families (well I told Mindy) about each other. While we were away, we planned to go on another date- my favorite actually- to the rodeo at the state fair.

School started and things got busy. We decided to talk a walk in Idaho Falls one Monday evening (instead of go to FHE- oops). But the whole walk Michael avoided the inevitable. But FINALLY on the ride home he told me he liked me. Best day of my life....so far.

Some months later (crazy I know) here we are...getting married!!! I really do see things in Michael that I love and I want to be apart of my life FOREVER. That's the story of our beginning. I didn't want to bore with the details, but that's the jist of it!

Wedding Deats Part I

Guess what everyone. I'M GETTING MARRIED!!!! So I will blog my wedding planning. But don't get upset if this is actually the only blog I post...

Here are the colors we am using. Pink, yellow and gray.

This what I was thinking for the bridesmaids dresses. Each person can do their own thing for the top. The dresses will be pink :)

Lists, lists, lists

So I just found out that I DON'T have work tomorrow- so that leaves me some time to blog!! And since I get upset every time I try to post pictures, I will not attempt-sorry :(

So I love lists- it's how I function every day- and as I think about things I organize them into lists and thought I would share some.

Things that Amaze me:
how we can send messages into space and they end up on someone else s phone or computer almost instantly
cars- they are just these things that run and carry us places
how people become grumpy
green-screens
how we all just follow rules

Things that I love and keep me happy
memories
ice cream
music
MY FAMILY
The ability to talk to Heavenly Father
New pictures of little Calvin (Danielle asked me "is Calvin his middle name?")
Naps
Water
The ability to be happy

The lists go on and on so I will them stop there.

Op- and for those that haven't, GO SEE IRON MAN 2- right now.

What makes us happy

So many times in life I think, as soon as “this happens” I will be happier, or as soon as “this is over” my life will be better. Truth be told, my life will never be easier, graduating school, finishing an assignment, after going on a vacation; these things will not make my life better. Life is as good as it’s going to get right now. Whether or not I choose to make it good, is up to me. Nothing is going to make life easier tomorrow, or next week, month year, etc. There is always going to be something in our life that is stressful, something that going to make us sad, something that brings us down.
Good and bad things happen every day to everyone everywhere. You get a raise, your grandpa dies, you fall in love, someone breaks your heart, you get stuck in traffic, or you get to take a nap. It’s what we choose to do with what is thrown our way or what we choose to focus on that shapes our lives. It’s a conscious choice to be happy or to think that your life is miserable- dynamo of volition. We have the ability to embrace what our lives have come to, and if we are not happy with the way it is, we have the ability to change it.
Being happy and satisfied does not depend on what happens in our life, because enviably we are not going to be as skinny as we want to be, rich as we want to be, successful as we want to be. We will never live up to our own expectations. We just have to be happy with what we have, what we have accomplished and what we have to look forward to.

Dynamo of Volition

Volition is the ability to make conscious choices. It is an extraordinary gift we are given as conscious minded human beings. By my own volition I raise my hand and ask questions. By my own volition I lean in for a kiss. These are not involuntary acts like the blinking of the eye or the beat of the heart. By my own volition I remain mindful of my life-fulfilling dreams. Therefore, I’ve got the Dynamo of Volition – the freedom of choice.
